Marie, 80, is fed up with her illness. She has a plan: to go to Switzerland to end her life. But when she tries to tell her irresponsible son and her teenage granddaughter, she panics and invents a huge lie. Pretending she has a mysterious inheritance to collect from a Swiss bank, she suggests they all go on a trip together. Rudy, a nursing assistant she met the day before, unwittingly becomes complicit in this charade. He takes the wheel of the old family camper van and drives the family on an unexpected journey.
